First trip to PR. We stayed in Rincon for the first half of the week. Can't help loving this country. It has much to offer the fruit hunter.
First stop was at Ian Crown's farm and meeting him for the first time. Ian and I had been chatting thru emails for a long time and found we were kindred spirits. He was kind enough to invite my wife and I down to visit the farm and Warren and Chris Hind joined us. What a wonderful experience! His farm is incredible and would be our yearly stomping grounds for years to come.
Felipe Osborne Shea's farm. We met Felipe for the first time at Ian's farm earlier. Felipe may not be quite the spring chicken anymore but we certainly had our time keeping up with him in that heat and terrain.
Bryan Brunner's farm. Have chatted and emailed with Bryan for some time now. He was my first source of any kind of exotic fruit tree. Now I get to meet him and see his farm for the first time.
Old San Juan. Fruit hunting is done and now it's time to entertain my better half! Got in some history as well as some good food. The main reason was to visit Castillo de San Cristóbal, the old fort.
El Yunque National Forest. Same place and same tour guides Andrew Zimmern hooked up with for his show in PR. This was a freaking blast! Hiking and zip lining in the rain forrest.
